Travel Assistance for Non-Urgent Medical Care

Provided by Island Health

Provides funded transportation for non-emergency medical care outside the community.
Island Health's travel assistance program provides funded transportation that supports people in many rural and remote regions who face barriers for needed medical travel outside of their community to an Island Health facility or service. The transportation contractors provide door-to-door, non-emergency patient transportation services, primarily facilitating trips to and from Island Health appointments, facilities, or locations, not within the patient’s own community.
